What is the Workplace Charging Scheme?

The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a government grant that helps eligible organisations cover the cost of purchasing and installing EV charge points at their premises. The grant covers 75% of the total cost of purchase and installation, up to a cap of £350 per socket, for a maximum of 40 sockets per applicant. That is a potential saving of up to £14,000.

Who is eligible?

• Private businesses with off-street parking for staff or fleet vehicles
• Charities and voluntary organisations
• Public authorities including NHS trusts and councils
• Small accommodation businesses such as hotels, B&Bs, and self-catering lets
• Applicants must apply via the OZEV portal before installation begins

How much can you claim?

The WCS covers up to 75% of the cost of purchasing and installing each charge point socket, up to a maximum of £350 per socket. With a cap of 40 sockets, the maximum total grant is £14,000. The grant is applied by your installer and deducted from the invoice - you pay only the balance.

How to apply

You must apply through the OZEV portal before installation begins. We work with OZEV-authorised installers who will guide you through the application process and handle the grant paperwork once you are approved. Once approved, your installer carries out the installation and applies the grant at the point of invoicing.
