Government grants
EV charging grants available in the UK.
The UK government offers grants to help reduce the cost of EV charger installation. Find out which scheme applies to you and how much you could save.
OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant (home)
The OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant covers 75% of the purchase and installation cost of a home EV chargepoint, up to £500. It is available to:
- Private and social renters
- Leasehold flat owners
- Landlords installing chargepoints for tenants
- Social housing providers
You must have dedicated off-street parking. Freehold homeowners do not qualify for this grant but can still get competitive installation quotes through us.
Your installer applies on your behalf and deducts the grant at the point of invoice - you simply pay the balance. All the installers we work with are OZEV-authorised.
Workplace Charging Scheme (businesses)
If you are a business, charity, or public authority, the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) offers up to £350 per socket (75% of cost) for up to 40 sockets. Eligible organisations include:
- Private sector businesses with off-street employee parking
- Charities and voluntary organisations
- Public authorities and NHS trusts
- Small accommodation businesses such as hotels and B&Bs
See our workplace EV charging page for more detail on the scheme and how to apply.
Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Grant (landlords)
Landlords and property management companies with multi-unit residential buildings can apply for the EV Infrastructure Grant, which covers up to 75% of installation costs across a building's shared parking. This is separate from the per-unit home grant.
