OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant.

What is the OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant?

The OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant (formerly the OLEV/EVHS grant) is a UK government scheme that helps eligible people cover the cost of purchasing and installing a dedicated home EV chargepoint. The grant covers 75% of the purchase and installation cost, up to a maximum of £500 per installation.

Who is eligible?

The home grant is available to:

• People who rent their home (private or social tenants)
• People who own a leasehold property (such as a flat)
• Landlords installing chargepoints for tenants
• Social housing providers

Homeowners (freehold) are not eligible for the home grant. However, if you own a business with off-street parking, you may be eligible for the Workplace Charging Scheme instead.

What else do you need to qualify?

• You must have dedicated off-street parking at the property
• The chargepoint must be installed by an OZEV-authorised installer
• The chargepoint must meet the OZEV technical specification (smart charging capable)

How does the grant work in practice?

You do not apply for the grant yourself. Your OZEV-authorised installer applies on your behalf and deducts the grant from the price you pay. You simply pay the balance after the grant has been applied. Your installer will confirm your eligibility and handle all the paperwork.

The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS)

Businesses, charities, and public authorities can claim up to £350 per socket (75% of cost) under the Workplace Charging Scheme, for up to 40 sockets. This is separate from the home grant. See our workplace charging page for full details.
