Installer guide
What is an OZEV-authorised installer?
You will need an OZEV-authorised installer to claim the government EV charger grant. Here is what that means and why it matters.
What OZEV stands for
OZEV is the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles - the government body responsible for EV policy and grants in the UK. It was formerly called OLEV (Office for Low Emission Vehicles), which is why you may see both terms used.
What makes an installer OZEV-authorised?
To become OZEV-authorised, an installer must meet a set of technical and regulatory requirements:
- Registered with NICEIC, NAPIT, or similar accredited certification body
- Completed EV charger installation training
- Registered on the OZEV installer portal
- Can apply for OZEV grants on behalf of customers
- Keeps up to date with OZEV technical standards
Why does it matter?
You can only claim the OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant (up to £500 for renters and flat owners) if your installer is OZEV-authorised. The installer applies on your behalf and deducts the grant from your invoice. A non-authorised installer cannot process the grant at all.
How do I find an OZEV-authorised installer?
All installers on our platform are OZEV-authorised. When you get quotes through us, every installer you hear from will be fully accredited and eligible to process your grant.
